A Trip to the Steven Udvar-Hazy Center, National Air & Space Museum

I took a little break from work this weekend and visited the Steven Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Va.  To say that this museum is awesome is putting it mildly.  I've uploaded my pictures for your enjoyment.  I'll be back soon with another 787 post very soon.

Awesome photos especially the ever rarer SR-71 which has some personnel appeal for me and my family and the P-38 Lightning flown by my Uncle during WWII over Germany, it has a story behind it as the F-35 lightning II takes to the wing. Top reported speed was 473 mph. Service speed was 275 mph. Thank you for all the photos. Well done!!!

Very cool... makes me want to go there more than ever. Can't seem to get away that the SR-71 is the coolest airplane ever, but when you add the Space Shuttle, Concorde, Enola Gay (seems more meaningful this week for some reason) and 1st 707 among everything... well, what a museum!! Urge everyone who goes to LA to see the Endeavor while it's still horizontal (going to be mounted vertically on the last ET before long)... you can get really close and appreciate the best/most complex machine we've built. thanks for sharing, Uresh.

Uresh - Please confirm: (5) delivered in November to date (11.18) and (4) ready for delivery with no more scheduled for November that are in testing. So only (9) deliveries for November?

If you have any more close-ups of the P-38 Lightning, please post. That aerospace museum looks very cool.
